Minutes of May 16, 2016

 

The meeting was called to order at 1:05 P.M. by Sarah Gassaway, Chair. In attendance: Ivo Ballentine, Secretary; Jackie Bryson, MSD Representative; Director Joseph Martin.

 

Approval of the Agenda

Agenda approved by consensus.

 

Approval of Minutes

Motion by Ballentine to approve April 2016 minutes, Gassaway seconded. Motion carried 2-0 (Haynes absent).

 

MSD Report

Jackie Bryson reported: MSD’s regular meeting will be on Wednesday, May 18, 2016; final arguments regarding the Asheville water system are expected this week.

District Reports

No action taken.

 

Director’s Report

1. The Leisure Mountain Road connector project is 50% complete.
2. The District’s Consumer Confidence Report is complete and available online.
3. SCADA work related to the Leisure Mountain project began this month.
4. State clearance has been received to install the well pump, which will be done when all equipment arrives.
5. The Director will be a featured presenter at the 2016 NC Rural Works Conference in Greensboro.
6. The state has approved the District’s Local Water Supply Plan.

Resolution 2016-03, Proposed FY 2017 Budget – No action taken.

B.   

Resolution 2016-04, 5-Year CIP – the 2017-2021 Capital Improvements Plan was presented. No action taken.
